MODIFICATION
OF A .IT DOMAIN NAME
The request to modify a domain name (i.e. change the domain name from www.your-company.it
to www.yourname.it) is considered to all effects to be a renunciation
of the domain name previously assigned together with a request
for a new domain name. Nevertheless,
other data regarding the documentation presented for
the request and the assignation of a domain name can be changed:
1. new entry person
If one or more entry persons (with the exception
of the admin-c) are added, a new electronic form with all the updated data has
to be sent by the provider/maintainer. 2.
Modification of an existing entry person If some data of an entry person
are modified or changed, it is necessary to inform the Registration Authority,
by sending an e-mail to domain@nic.it,
specifying "MODIFICA DATI ENTRY PERSON" as the e-mail subject.
The e-mail body must solely contain the person object with all the new
data. Example: To: domain@nic.it

3. Change of Admin-c
Herewith, please read and take note of the art.5.1
of the Registration Technical Procedures: "A new letter of assumption of responsibility
is necessary in case the admin-c changes".
Therefore, in order to
change the admin-c of a domain name it is compulsory to send a request for
changing the admin-c plus a new letter of assumption of responsibility that will
have the new admin-c as requestant of that domain name. This
request can be sent via ordinary mail or via fax to: +39 050 570230
Example
of admin-c change The letter must be in Italian. The English version reported
below aims to facilitate a better understanding of its content Oggetto:

"Ai sensi dell'art.10, comma 1, della legge 31 dicembre 1996, n.675, i dati personali
forniti dai richiedenti saranno raccolti presso l'Istituto di Informatica e Telematica
per le finalità strettamente connesse all'operazione di cambio admin-c del nome
a dominio in oggetto e saranno trattati presso una banca dati dello IIT per lo
svolgimento delle operazioni relative alla richiesta stessa. Il conferimento
di tali dati all'Istituto di Informatica e Telematica del CNR è obbligatorio ai
fini della valutazione della domanda di cancellazione. L'interessato gode
dei diritti di cui all'art.13 della citata legge. Il responsabile del trattamento
dei dati è il Direttore dell'Istituto di Informatica e Telematica." |

"According to art.10, 2nd paragraph, of Italian law n.675
of 31st December 1996, the personal data provided by the requestant will be gathered
by the Institute of Informatic and Telematic exclusively to process the operation
of change of admin-c. It is mandatory to provide the above mentioned data
so that the Institute for Telematic will correctly examine the request of provider
change. The interested party has all rights that come from art.13 of the quoted
law. The Director of the Institute of Informatic and Telematic is responsible
of the data treatment." | 4.
Admin-c change together with provider change Under this
circumstance, it is necessary to send together:
- Admin-c change
request;
- A new letter
of assumption of responsibility that has the new admin-c as requestant. In
this letter the provider/maintainer name must be the old one;
- A
request of provider/maintainer change as described above.
