a domain name or to sign up for Email or Web hosting Services. How
will I know when my domain name registration is up for renewal ?
You
don't have to wait for your domain name registration to expire before you renew
it. You can extend the term of your domain name registration at any time
by clicking on the Renewal link in NetRegister's Control
Panel. In order to ensure that our customers' online identities are protected,
NetRegister will send you a notification email 60/45/30/15/5/4/3/2/1 days before
your current domain name registration term is set to expire. Additionally,
you can check the expiration date(s) of your domain name registration(s) through
domain Control Panel, which is located here.

one, some or all of your domain names/services. What
will happen to my domain name if I don't renew the registration ?

you choose not to renew your domain name registration term, the domain name will
become available for registration upon the expiration of the current term to other
potential registrants. Can
I renew my domain name, which was originally registered through Network Solutions,
Inc., through NetRegister ?
Yes,
if you have registered your domain name through Network Solutions, Inc. or any
other domain name registrar, you can easily transfer and renew your domain name
online through NetRegister's automated Transfer
of Registrar process. What
is email ?
Email, or electronic mail, is a widely used process of sending text messages and
attached files from one user to another through the Internet. There are many types
of email clients (software programs) that allow users to create, send and receive
electronic mail. What
is an email address ?
An email address is an identifier for a user on the Internet that specifies where
electronic mail for that user should be delivered. Email addresses are formatted
in the following way: you_email_box@your_domain_name.com
The mailbox name specifies the specific user at the domain name to which
you are sending email. There can be an unlimited number of mailbox names associated
with a domain name, allowing for the creation of an unlimited number of email
addresses at any domain name. What
is Web-based email? Is it secure ?
Web-based email is electronic mail that can be sent and received from a Web site
on the Internet, using a Web browser (like Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer),
rather than using an email program (such as Qualcomm Communications' Eudora
or Microsoft Outlook). The advantage of Web-based email is that it can be
retrieved and sent from any computer with an Internet connection, whereas traditional
email programs must be configured on a specific computer to send and receive mail
for a particular email address. NetRegister makes security a priority.
NetRegister's Email Service utilizes state-of-the-art security measures in its
mail system architecture. Mail stored on our email servers is accessible only
by you and protected by a secret password you select. If you log into NetRegister's
Email Service from a public terminal, you can choose to have your pages expired
so nobody can look at your past email sessions. How
long is the service term for NetRegister's POP3 Email accounts ?
NetRegister's POP3 Email account term is one year. After one year, you will need
to renew this service or else your email account and all associated email will
be permanently deleted. You will receive renewal notification at least 60/45/30/15/5
days prior to expiration. Please note that if your domain name registration
expires or if you transfer your domain name registration to another registrar
before your Email account term expires, your email account and all associated
email will be permanently deleted. In such event, you will not be entitled
to a refund for the unused portion of the Email Service term. What
is the difference between my NetRegister user name and my mailbox name ?
Your NetRegister user name and password is used to log into Domain Control Panel
and to access your domain parameters. It also accesses account information, such
as DNS information, Webserver parameters, URL forwarding, POP3 Email accounts,
etc. Your mailbox name is the name that you will use to log into your
NetRegister email account. It is also the name that will appear before the "@"
symbol in your email address. For instance, if you choose the mailbox name "John-Smith"
and your domain name is "johndomain.com", your email address will appear as:
John-Smith@johndomain.com After
I sign up, when will I be able to access my new mailbox on the Internet ?
Immediatly! Can
my NetRegister email be configured for use with a POP3 email client ?
To configure your POP (Post Office Protocol) compliant email software to retrieve
your NetRegister email, please follow these steps, substituting your registered
domain name for "YourDomainName.com" and your mailbox for "yourname": - Go
to the setup section of your email software.
- Change the Incoming Mail (POP)
server to:
- POP3 server: mail.YourDomainName.com
- Change the POP user name or account name to your new mailbox name, using the
following format:
- login name: YourDomainName.com-N
(where N=1 to 99)
- Change the "Reply To:" address
to your new NetRegister email account name (for example, yourname@YourDomainName.com).
- Your password for POP is the same as your mailbox password.
What
happens to my POP3 Email accounts if my domain name registration expires ?
If your domain name registration expires prior to the expiration date of your
POP3 Email accounts term, your netRegister Email Service will be automatically
terminated. This means your email account and all associated email will be
permanently deleted. In such event, you will not be entitled to a refund for the
unused portion of the Email Service term. What
happens to my POP3 Email accounts if I transfer my domain name registration to
another registrar ?
If you transfer your domain name registration to a registrar other than NetRegister
at any point during the domain name registration term, your NetRegister POP3 Email
accounts will be automatically terminated. This means your email account and all
associated email will be permanently deleted. In such event, you will not be entitled
to a refund for the unused portion of the Email Service term. What's
the difference between "URL Forwarding" and "Free URL Forwarding"
?
First of all, what does the forwarding/redirection service include? Take for instance
the following: you already have a web space (might as well be a free web space)
where you published your web site. The URL is probably rather long, and not easy
to pronounce. The solution is easy: simply register your domain name and ask for
our redirection service: i.e., your domain name will be redirected to your web
pages. And what about the difference between "URL Forwarding"
and "Free URL Forwarding" ? In both services, your domain name will
be redirected to the URL of your web site, leaving the domain name "frozen"
in the browser window. Included in the redirection-service is e-mail forwarding:
We will explain further into detail what this includes for each redirection-option
individually: FREE URL FORWARDING/REDIRECT: You can publish
as much virtual e-mail addresses (for example xxx@yourdomain.biz) on your web
site as you like. All messages sent to the virtual e-mail addresses of the before
mentioned type will be redirected towards the e-mail address you currently use.
Free Url Redirect gives your site a professional image since
NO publicity banners
will be added from our part. The destination-URL can be altered at each point
in time during the 12-month period through your domain
Control Panel. COST: see
pricing. URL FORWARDING/REDIRECT: You can publish one
virtual e-mail addresses (for example xxx@yourdomain.biz) on your web site. All
messages sent to the virtual e-mail address (one in number) of the before mentioned
type will be redirected towards the e-mail address you currently use. NetRegister
will have the right to insert in its
own HTML form or publicity banners that enable the visitors of your web site
to check the availability of domain names. COST : For the activation
for the "URL forwarding" service
there is no additional fee next to the domain name registration fee whatsoever.
Can
I use my own DNS when registering a domain name through NetRegister ?
Yes,of course. Moreover, this procedure is entirely free and automated via
Domain Control Panel. May
I resell NetRegister services ?
Yes,you may. What
is the Data Transfer ?
In general, any outward-bound traffic from a Web site, with the exception of e-mail,
is considered as data transfer. For example, each time a Web page, image, midi
file, quicktime video, etc. is loaded, data transfer is generated. Each of our
plans includes a generous amount of free data transfer which should be more than
enough for most sites. In fact, 98% to 99% of our customers operate within their
free data transfer allowance. What
is the Disk Storage Space
Disk storage space refers to the amount of server disk storage specifically allocated
to your account. This space is used to store your html files, graphics, audio
clips, POP mail messages, pdfs, and other files that make up your Web site.
